My name is Jeanne, and I love food. Eating it, cooking it, taking pictures of it and traveling to experience new versions of it. Food is a creative outlet. I wish I could paint or sculpt but it’s just not in the cards for me. I can however cook. It’s sort of my blank canvas.
We live out in the boonies in an old ranch house and Flo is my 1940 Norge stove. Yup, my stove has a name. She was probably brand spanking new when she came to this ranch house. She is pure cast iron cooking poetry. I wish she could tell her stories.
Along with my vintage stove, I also love vintage housewares. There is nothing like cooking with a well seasoned old cast iron skillet. I enjoy the stories behind their manufacture and appreciate the qualities that have allowed them to stand the test of time. I’ll share some of my favorites and why I find them so charming.
